This commercial fit out took my eye this week, it reminds me of the Google head office that was done a few years ago and featured in Indesign magazine. Lots of pops of bright colour and a kind of edgy street vibe whilst still maintaining a professional corporate feel.
Found this image of a gorgeous dining setting while browsing another chicky designers blog called ‘Amber Interiors’. Despite having an unimaginative website/ blog name she has some serious style and i like most of what I’ve stalked so far Inside view from “Heidis living room” showing the cute patio garden outside. How awesome is that chair too?! Think I need one of thoseThis week something quite exciting happened involving Darwin’s blossoming fashion scene in the form of a new website, blog and facebook page dedicated to all that is stylish and unique about our little city. Check it out , its called The Darwin Calibre I think its all highly exciting and I’m pretty sure my friend who has started this site with her little gem of an idea does too, I actually thought about doing something like this afew years ago when I hosted the first ever Darwin fashion week and realised there was not a single blog dedicated to NT fashion despite an abundance of local textiles artists, designers and style sisters frocking up regularly… Obviously I never got around to starting a blog showcasing all of this great talent but I figured interior design is more my thing these days and left the brutal world of fashion to those already entrenched in it. Darwin Calibre – i think this site is one to watch and wish them all the very best.
Art Design & a Dinosaur is an article I read and enjoyed this week. Along with this style file article showing off a South African beach house that just fuelled my wanderlust even more, South Africa is now near the top of my never ending list of places to visit.
If you enjoy abit of quirky comic style art there is a great exhibition that opened this week at Muk Muk Fine Art, 51 Smith St, Darwin and is showing until May.
A couple of other things I have to share are these furniture items that I am featuring in next months Darwin life magazine stylefile. They all appealed to me for their childlike whimsical styling.
E27 pendant light by Fatshack vintage- available in lots of colours they are like mini rough diamonds made from resin, think I am going to order some of these for my placeThat’s me and all that I have been up to for the week, I now need to go and source the perfect sink for my own kitchen renovation which is turning out to be much harder than I would like so off to do more web browsing. If anyone knows where to find one of these that can be shipped to the Northern Territory this decade please let me know. :O
