15.4.17 “From Noosa with love”

Greetings from sunny Queensland!

This easter break see’s me on a 5 day mini break with the fella exploring the coast after a poke around my old (temporary) home of Brisbane. Basically lazing my way along the coast to do some recon work for a resort renovation I have been commissioned to do that is hinged around all things coastal and pared back Aussie beachouse style.

So far I have been fully immersed in the white sand beaches, the turquoise water that merges to deep aqua as it heads towards the horizon, Falling in love all over again with the white washed interiors that the sunshine coast is famous for and trawling through suppliers of home wares, visiting little shops, market stores and galleries like some kind of hyped up crazy gypsy touching everything, sniffing things, rubbing pieces of linen together , slowly running my hands all over timber furniture and oo-hhing and ahh-ing over woven rugs and generally being like an excited child while I flit around being over inspired and a little bit creepily infatuated with everything all at once in the way that I always get when I sink my teeth into a new project that I am passionate about.

The best part (other than the fresh healthy produce which is amaaaazing everywhere on the sunny coast) so far has been randomly meeting artists in cafes or at their day job and talking to them about the local art scene and hearing about the many, varied creative types including all sorts from the hills of Eumundi , Montville and Maleny  …. places I hadn’t visited for over 10 years now and that are as gorgeous, inspiring and magical as ever.

I will return to my beautiful beloved Darwin tomorrow but for now have fallen in love with the sand and sea here and am so glad we got away for afew days to recharge my creative little soul! Happy easter to you.
