Sunday session 28.8.16 ‘Where’d August go?”

I feel like that can’t really be the date can it? … End of August whaaaaat? No seriously it was just April a few weeks ago in my mind.

Whilst my brain might not be adjusting to the correct date my diary certainly is with circles and scribbles and a little rainbow of colourful post it notes stuck all over it reminding me that there is shit to do and deadlines APLENTY! Big outlined arrows point at certain VIP projects I need to finish at certain times, That’s what I do when something is really really important I draw big arrows marking my attention to it so if you are one of my nice clients who pays their bills on time and has their shit all squared away and you don’t need ten thousand revisions to get your renovation or construction done then you my friend, you get an arrow. The rest … no arrows. Arrow free zone.

Yesterday I was in a mad rush and left my diary at home amidst the madness that is my Saturday morning ritual of fighting with the hound to get him in the bath, avoiding the annoying slow-walkers at the Parap markets while getting my weekly fruit and veg and then rushing to open the commercial firm for a few hours of chatting furniture,  followed by client/ site visits. Leaving a diary at home is never a good thing, especially when you have the memory of a goldfish and rely on it to tell you where you are going and whom you are meeting so my day pretty much spiralled out of control and now next week is going to be crazy too. Yay.

Now for the pretty stuff:

Modern yet timeless. Using an old favourite – Jardan furniture
industrial
Cosy and natural with a bit of rustic country influence
Industrial loft style. What’s not to like? This is very me.

Natural light, soft greys, repainted a raked ceiling in calming cream, added some texture and a lambswool and token greenery- Viola! Cosy living.

I have been looking at design abroad, mainly in areas of Italy, Spain and Portugal as inspiration for an upcoming project I have. Check out this San Paulo apartment with 3 of my favourite elements in a home – Concrete, timber and stainless steel.

The last 2 images are kitchens made using products by my new favourite Italian brand Valcucine, ‘Designed with style and sophistication’ by Italian designer Gabriele Centazzo.

Grey is not always boring. Picking grey paint though …sound easy to you? Well then do it yourself with the help of this article.

There are many many greys out there and when a client tells me they want a "cool grey' I just shake my head and mentally scan through the hundreds of options.

Here is a serene Sydney beach house I came across and loved, Yes I am dreaming of seaside holidays already but that’s ok because I have one booked.

Casual understated elegance and a black kitchen- Perfect!

Check out this old industrial, moody beautifully cosy huge scale home. I saved the images earlier this week but failed to save the link showing the full home tour so now I am desperately trying to find out where this home is. I adore it! No white walls in sight… FINALLY a home with real soul.
