Sunday session 10.4.16 ‘The named edition’

Hello friends and stalkers 🙂

I am back at my keyboard and back in Darwin after a whirlwind couple of weeks in which I married my absolute love and then went off on honeymoon to the island of the gods. Life is grand and I am sitting here in a state of complete contented happiness patting myself on the back at my ability to fluke a wonderful life. I think I must have done something really good in a past life because all my days seem to find me smiling .

While on honeymoon I had lots of time to just sit and think. To stare at the water and let my mind make fanciful ideas about what I would like to achieve, when and a little bit of ‘how’ too. Mostly just ‘what’ but I think that is the most important question to ask yourself and one that many people seem to overlook while getting caught up in the crap that is just every day life.  “And whatever your labours and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life keep peace in your soul’. Good solid advice.

I realised while I was away that I might not want to do home renos and design forever and that that is ok. I am tiring of  clients, of houses and of building sites and I bloody hate drawing plans I have decided. I gave myself a few little pep talks about living life for me and being true to whatever the fuck that actually is. I am well and truly over doing jobs just because i need the money. I want to do more writing, more collaborations and more styling for photo shoots and other things that I am yet to work out. Work aside, I also decided I need to start naming my ‘sunday sessions’ rather than just dating them as these blog posts are like diary entries for me in a way so from now on they all get a name relating to how I am feeling that week or what I am up to at the time.

I will share more about our wedding later when I get some photos back, for now here is a pic of some of our lovely friends and family at our little garden soiree. You missed quite the party, Weddings are great fun and I highly recommend them.

I have no design news as I haven’t done any work since the end of March which is a lonnnnnng break for me, Instead I have been focussing on what is next for my business and how I can achieve that while keeping up with my normal day to day job at the design firm, still feeding my creative demons, balancing life as a new wife and hopefully making some money along the way. I don’t have everything quite figured out yet but I am on my way there and the hubby and I have some plans in place to work towards so step by step I head in the direction of my dreams with the support of the fella and together… I tellya … we make a wild team so look out!

That’s it. I’m back, I’m happy and you all should be too because it’s better than the alternative right?
