I had a little argument with a builder recently …he glanced at a table we were discussing and declared it 600mm round. I told him it was actually 450mm ( I know this as I put it there and had specified it). He dismissed me with a shake of his head “No no it’s 600, I am a builder you know?” I pointed at another nearby and told him that table over there is 600 diameter…but he wasn’t convinced.. “No that one is around 800 diameter” he assured me and went to get a tape measure. It turned out to actually be 650 diameter not 600 as I said. “You are wrong!’ he declared. “50mm out” I noted, He moved to measure the original table we discussed. It was 450 diameter like I knew it was. He looked up at me… I stared back at him with raised eyebrows smiling sweetly with what I am sure must have been a mocking look of “I f@#king told you so!’ written all over my face. He put the tape down slowly and walked away without another word. I think he dislikes me. I am just curious about what his house looks like considering his measurements are around 200mm out 😀

A meme reminded me of this earlier in the week, like I need that kind of pointless stress in my life? Who writes those things anyway? Another year nearing an end already.
I have been so busy working on others peoples homes and businesses that my own little dwelling is needing some attention and love. At last count I had worked on 9 homes in the past 2 months, with more commercial jobs on top of that. Most of those have been new builds that are now in varying stages of builders rubble mess….some only just have slabs poured, some nearing lock up stage but all with happy clients just itching to move into their new spaces. I feel lucky to be able to help people with this exciting stage in their lives and to be able to choose the jobs that I take on as I have a full time job at a firm and a husband who thinks my crazy ideas are amusing and achievable.
